DPR Sanctions 16 Filling Stations In Bayelsa State

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Bayelsa State has sanctioned 16 filling stations in the state for engaging in various illegal practices.

The stations include Esebruruku Nig Ltd., Paudsima Nig Ltd., Ereboter Oil Ltd., Jevero Unique Venture, Mein Oil, Giftson Invet Nigeria, Milomi & Sons Ent., Timikon Nig Ltd., Gamag Ltd., and Mobil Oil Ltd.
Asuquo Antai, Operations Controller of the DPR in Bayelsa State, told journalists in Yenagoa that the marketers were sanctioned for overpricing, under dispensing and product diversion.
Mr. Antai said the affected marketers were charged with hefty fines and made to sign an agreement to not to indulge in the practices again.
He added, however, that due to intensified monitoring and sanctions, the DPR has reduced diversion by marketers to the barest minimum.
Mr. Antai also said that as part of the activities put in place to monitor corrupt practices in the State, the DPR decided to publicize all allocated petrol products from government sources.

The official said the development would enable the DPR to track the product movement.
